Decline in U.S. Dollar Exchange Rates in Iraq

The exchange rates of the U.S. dollar against the Iraqi dinar dropped in local Iraqi markets on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

The dollar fell in the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya central exchanges in Baghdad, recording 142,100 IQD per 100 USD, compared to 142,700 IQD per 100 USD on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, prices at currency exchange shops in local Baghdad markets also dropped:

  • Selling price: 143,000 IQD per 100 USD
  • Buying price: 141,000 IQD per 100 USD

It is worth noting that on February 7, 2022, the Council of Ministers approved an official adjustment of the exchange rate to 1,320 IQD per 1 USD.
