By the Numbers: Licensed Parties and Alliances for the Upcoming Elections

The Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Thursday the number of licensed political parties and alliances for the upcoming elections scheduled for November 11.

In a statement, the Commission said:
“The final status after the end of the registration period for political alliances — as of the end of official working hours on Thursday and within the set timeframe for submitting registration requests — is as follows:

Number of individual lists that submitted a request to express their desire to participate: 16 lists

Number of licensed parties: 343 parties

Number of parties under formation: 60 parties

Number of parties that expressed their desire to participate in the elections: 118 parties

Number of previous alliances: 66 alliances

Number of alliances that received certification from the Board of Commissioners: 5 alliances

Number of alliances awaiting certification from the Board of Commissioners: 11 alliances

Number of alliances that expressed a desire to participate in the elections: 25 alliances
